Free Wonderlic practice test: 50 questions, 12 minutes
14.4 seconds a question, no calculator, no skipping around. Many people do not finish (Wonderlic's own words), and you are not meant to. Find out how far you get, and which questions cost you the most.
12:00 on the clock · 50 questions
- 50 questions: mostly five answer choices, three on logic and word-pair questions; two questions ask you to pick three answers
- You cannot go back to a question once you move on
- Wonderlic's own advice: do not guess wildly; mark your best choice and keep moving
- No calculator. Scratch paper and a pencil are fine.
The clock starts when you press the button and cannot be paused. No email, no sign-up.
What you see when the clock stops
Your score and where it stands
Correct answers, questions reached, and a percentile estimated from historical averages, labeled as an estimate because Wonderlic publishes no current norms.
The questions you should have skipped
Every question that held you past the pace and earned no point, with the seconds it cost and the points that time was worth.
Your weak types, by name
Right, wrong and seconds for each question type, so tonight's practice goes where the points are.
Also in the questions: "Some" means at least one, possibly all. Dates are written month/day/year. A figure may be turned, but it is never flipped unless the question says so.
The Wonderlic: what the publisher says
| Format | 50 questions in exactly 12 minutes. No calculator, no dictionary. Source: Wonderlic sample assessment. |
|---|---|
| Finishing | The publisher tells candidates that many people do not finish, and that guessing is not likely to improve a score. Source: Wonderlic sample assessment. |
| What it measures | Logic and reasoning rather than knowledge; only a small number of questions involve calculation, by the publisher's description. Source: Wonderlic candidate FAQ. |
| Your score | There is no pass or fail and the candidate gets no numeric score. The employer sees how the result fits the job. Source: Wonderlic candidate FAQ. |
| What comes with it | Wonderlic Select adds an untimed personality section (150 statements) and a motivation section (58 items): about 35 minutes in all. Source: Wonderlic candidate FAQ. |
| Short version | Wonderlic's page for its school exam describes 30 questions in eight minutes, and prep companies report that some employers send a short form like it first. The plans include two quick tests in that format. Source: Wonderlic SLE page. |
| Typical score | The test was built for an average of 20, and prep companies quote 20 to 22 from older studies. Wonderlic publishes no current norms, so treat any percentile as an estimate. |

Questions about the Wonderlic
Is this the real Wonderlic test?
No. It is a practice test written by us in the Wonderlic format: 50 questions, 12 minutes, the same kinds of questions. Wonderlic, Inc. does not publish its questions and we are not affiliated with it.
What is a good Wonderlic score?
There is no pass mark. The test was built for an average of 20 of 50 (prep companies quote 20 to 22), and each employer decides what fits the job. Today Wonderlic Select does not give candidates a number at all.
Can I use a calculator on the Wonderlic?
No. The publisher's instructions rule out calculators and dictionaries. Scratch paper is the tool to practice with.
Should I guess on the Wonderlic?
Wonderlic says guessing is not likely to improve your score, and to mark your best choice if you think you know the answer. So do not guess blindly, but do not sit on a question either: decide and move on.
How is the 30-question Wonderlic different?
Same question types, 8 minutes instead of 12, so the pace is almost the same: 16 seconds a question instead of 14.4.
