15:00 on the clock · 50 questions

  • 50 questions, five answer choices on almost every one
  • You cannot go back to a question once you move on
  • No penalty for a wrong answer: when you are stuck, guess and move on
  • No calculator. Scratch paper and a pencil are fine.

The clock starts when you press the button and cannot be paused. No email, no sign-up.

What you see when the clock stops

Your score and where it stands

Correct answers, questions reached, and a percentile estimated from Criteria's published norm. Pick a target role and see the gap to Criteria's suggested range for it, and the roles your practice score already reaches.

The questions you should have skipped

Every question that held you past the pace and earned no point, with the seconds it cost and the points that time was worth.

Your weak types, by name

Right, wrong and seconds for each question type, so tonight's practice goes where the points are.

Also in the questions: "Some" means at least one, possibly all. Dates are written month/day/year. A figure may be turned, but it is never flipped unless the question says so.

Questions about the CCAT

Is this the real CCAT?

No. It is a practice test written by us in the CCAT format: 50 questions, 15 minutes, verbal, math and logic, and spatial questions. Criteria draws each candidate's test from a large bank and we are not affiliated with Criteria Corp.

What is a good CCAT score?

The average is 24 of 50. What counts as good depends on the job: Criteria's suggested ranges start between 17 and the mid-20s depending on the role, and employers can set their own.

How is the percentile on this page worked out?

From the publisher's own norm figures (mean 24, standard deviation 7). It is an estimate, and the page says so next to the number.

Should I guess on the CCAT?

Yes. Criteria states there is no penalty for wrong answers, so a blank is the only answer that cannot score.

Can I take the CCAT on a phone?

Criteria says it can be taken on a phone. We find the figure questions easier on a larger screen. Practice on the device you will use.
